CONTINUATION OF THE TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF ROYAL AIR FORCES ASSOCIATION DISS BRANCH MEETINGS – CORONAVIRUS
Due to the extension of restrictions on public gatherings resulting from the Coronavirus Pandemic and the clear need to protect elderly and vulnerable groups, it has been decided to continue the temporary suspension of all meetings, events and Fund Raising activities of the Diss & District Branch of the Royal Air Forces Association for the months of May, June and July. There is no meeting scheduled for August. This situation will be reviewed in the light of any further guidance from the Government but it is likely that our next meeting will be in September when we hope to hold our deferred Annual General Meeting. Sadly, in view of the continuing health risks of Coronavirus to our members and the public, we have also taken the decision to cancel the Joint Diss/Thetford RAFA Garden Party in July and the RAF Honington Band Concert at the Corn Hall in September. We hope and look forward to reinstating these popular events next year.
The health and wellbeing of our members is very important to us all and our Membership Officer (Suzanne Ferguson) and Secretary (Marilyn Hurst) have been phoning members to check if any help is needed. I am happy to say that everyone we have spoken to seems to be coping well in the difficult circumstances. However, if you or anyone in the Branch needs to talk please contact any member of the Committee and we will do what we can to help. In the meantime, please continue to abide by the Health advice provided by the Government and stay safe.
